Embarking On a New Journey

We’re half way through the calendar year and to say that it’s been a ride is an understatement. From changes in the collective and individual, losses, and sudden shifts, the medicine of numerology and it being a year nine has been a constant thread that we have returned to as a project.

But as we approach our own 9th cycle of this project - we wanted to take some space and time here to reflect on what we have achieved, and name where we’re going. There have been thousands who have seen, taken part of, and uplifted this work - even in the beginning before we had the infrastructure, or digital platforms. Then, during the most recent pandemic, folks trusted us with ou growing digital facilitation skills enough where virtual sessions are now forever a part of our practice to ensure that the work can spread and be accessible. We’ve hosted several series, deepened relationships with collaborators, and even been a part of programming at major local cultural centers and art institutions.

If you’ve ever circled with us, you’ve heard me (Veronica), name that our best work cannot live on just the internet alone. Particularly within the AIT ecosystem that we have developed and nurtured, we know that this is true - but we kept returning to archival memory and artifacts. Something that says “we were here, these were the challenges of our times, and this is what we hope for our descendants via the reclaimed wisdom of our elevated ancestors.”

One day last year, we were asked if we had ever considered writing a book. Then that turned into discovery calls, a pitch, and now, a manuscript that is in progress. Ancestors in Training, the book, will land at a bookshelf near you October 2026. We are so so grateful to the team at North Atlantic Books for seeing us, Jasmine for her encouragement during the editing process, and to all of you who have believed in this work. What this means in the interim is that some of our ongoing projects within AIT will slow down, naturally, to make space for what we’re being called to birth. You can stay updated by joining our newsletter, and following us on social media. We’re still dreaming of ways to celebrate this milestone with all of you, and hope to have more on that after the jump. Until then, continue to take good care of yourselves.
