We are a community powered project, and while we have received grants in the past - folks have often thought that this work was fully monetized. Despite our impact, this hasn’t been the case, and a lot has been made possible through our founder taking debt or paying out of pocket.

Ancestors in Training, as a project, was born on the lands and waters of the Lenape people, specifically the Canarsee people of what is now called Brooklyn, New York. We honor their ongoing presence and their ancestral and contemporary stewardship of these lands and waters. We encourage you to learn about and materially engage with the Indigenous communities who continue to tend the lands and waters where you live.
