People believed that this work had been monetized for years.
This was received, and still is, for the compliment that it is. But given the times, and even circumstances in our founder’s life, we want to be open to portals of possibility. That includes reimagining what supporting this work looks like.
Why Support Ancestors in Training™
Ancestors in Training™ began as a whisper - a question about how we remember, heal, and create practices worthy of the generations coming after us. Over the years, it has grown into a living ecosystem: workshops, writing circles, altar builds, online offerings, community spaces, and now a forthcoming book.
Every part of AIT has been built by hand, held with care, and carried forward by people who believe that healing is collective, that lineage is a living force, and that we deserve to inherit something sweeter.
We are still - intentionally and with care - a people-powered, community-rooted, and not yet fully funded project. Your support makes this work possible in the most literal sense.
Where Your Contribution Goes
Your donation helps nourish:
Sliding scale and free community workshops - especially Writing with the Ancestors sessions and community care tools
Altar installations and ritual spaces offered at festivals + gatherings
The AIT Book - a living cosmology developed for all who seek ancestry-based healing
Creative collaborators, volunteers, and BIPOC practitioners who help build these offerings
Accessibility, including captions, transportation stipends, and accommodations for participants
Supplies, materials, and digital tools needed to keep AIT responsive and expansive
This is work that takes time, presence, creativity, and sustained care that has been largely self-funded.
Why Recurring Support Matters
Recurring donations allow us to:
Plan offerings months in advance
Offer free or discounted access to folks with limited resources
Build toward stable funding that protects the integrity of the project
Create long-term programs as opposed to just one-off events
Keep the work community-centered instead of institution-dependent
Monthly donors become part of the circle that keeps this work steady and growing. Even $5 or $15 per month makes a real impact when offered collectively.
